Roots of Wonder's foundational programming is the Maiden Mysteries. This is a coming of age journey for girls who wish to explore and develop a deep sense of belonging to self, others, and the living world around them. We consider our programming to be a "living" curriculum because we work within a flexible framework that is designed to meet each girl where they are while providing tools and resources to help navigate their unique life experience as they cross the threshold from girlhood to teenager to young adulthood. The curriculum will meet the individual needs of each girl in the program while engaging in an authentic community dynamic.
All girls must begin by joining the Seed Sisters group anytime between 8-11 years and should participate for at least one full calendar year (or longer determined by the facilitator) before taking their Maiden Voyage and moving into a Renegade Maiden pod. The Mother-Daughter community is built through the committed participation in the Seed Sisters and Renegade Maiden groups.
Investment in the Maiden Mysteries.
Annual Family Registration Fee - $75.00. Additionally, each program has a specific cost associated. We ask that all participants pay the requested fees immediately upon registration and/or on the date indicated on marketing materials.
If you would like your child to participate, however, cannot pay the requested fees. Please reach out to Shela at 918.200-2929 to discuss payment options or inquire about scholarship availability. We do not want cost to be prohibitive for anyone wishing to participate.
We do not check financial abilities. We trust that all who are interested in this work are able to act with financial integrity. We feel that our pricing is an equitable exchange for this type of unique programming.
This is the place where you will begin the journey with the Maiden Mysteries. Our living curriculum is presented in a seasonal format in the Seed Sisters to serve the Maiden on her path through her adolescent and pre-teen years. It is designed for girls ages 8-12 (other ages may be included). We generally work in small groups of 6-8 girls twice per month for 2 hours to establish trust, intimacy and community support.
We provide intuitive guidance into cyclical ways of being, archetypal patterning, mythological stories, and embodied awareness. Each girl will be discovering and developing her own uncharted terrain (inner compass, cultural map, and regenerative practices) to assist her unique path.
During our circles, we engage through the ritual of play and wonder. When comfort and familiarity set in, we learn to deepen our trust through personal reflection and sister mirroring. Together, we learn to meet the moment and respond from within while paying attention to outside influences.
We provide access to a plethora of tools, guidebooks, and other valuable resources to guide their exploration into the wider world. Additionally, we offer community support for the mothers navigating this path alongside her.
Renegade Maidens are Creative ColLABoration's that are Maiden-led and Mentor-guided (for girls 12/13+ years). We meet to uncover our creative potential and celebrate the wild innocent journey from girlhood to young womanhood.
Our Creative process involves exploring the known and unknown spaces of our inner landscapes, the cycles of our development and growth physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually as we experience transitions during this forming life stage. We are learning to listen to our intuition and trust the beauty inside of us as we navigate the outer world.
**Participation in at least 4 consecutive seasons in Seed Sisters is required to form a Renegade Maiden pod. The pods are focused and intentional, therefore, application, interview and commitment are required.

The Renegade Maidens pod idea began taking shape at the closing of our Fall session in 2021, three years after they began their journey with the Maiden Mysteries (aka Invincible Girls Club). This origin pod of four (Kiran, Ua, Bebe and Oona) have been intimately involved with the creation of the Maiden Mysteries framework.
In January, 2024, they completed their short story series called Watershed. Now they are celebrating and resting as new seeds are stirring within them. We are all anxiously anticipating what new creative passions and purpose they will embark upon together.
**We are seeking collaborators, mentors, and adults who are passionate about exploring and creating art in its many forms with teenagers.
This group is for members of the Seed Sisters and Renegade Maidens and their mothers or special woman in their life.
During the Summer months we gather and play at Spring Creek and various beautiful outdoor locations around Northeastern Oklahoma. Our mother-daughter members meet regularly and spontaneously to celebrate our community efforts and inspire hope.
Every Winter, we gather in the Woods to listen to the Wisdom of the dark fertile unknown, deepen into sisterhood, and plant our dreams seeds. To maintain the intimacy of our group dynamic, your daughter must participate in a full season prior to participation in the retreat.
Community workshops for those interested in this type of community work or simply to deepen your mother-daughter connection. Shela's signature 4-week series is called: Mirror of the Soul. Contact pranamamatulsa@gmail.com for details.
Our 6th annual retreat will be held in January/February 2025.
Each Fall and Spring our Seed Sisters and Renegade Maidens are invited to camp together on private land at Spavinaw Creek to navigate independence, foster community, deepen self-awareness, and be awe-inspired by the beauty of nature.
Current camping fee is $150.
*All campers are required to take the Elemental Odyssey 1/2 day course prior to camping. (Cost is $33)
